Update Alert: Los Angeles City Approves Business Tax Relief for Wildfire Victims

The Los Angeles City Council has introduced a Business Tax Relief Program to support businesses impacted by the recent wildfires. If your business location was destroyed, including home-based businesses, you will not be required to renew your business license or pay the business license tax for 2025.

Key details:
✔ Businesses destroyed by wildfires will be deemed terminated as of Dec. 31, 2024, with no 2025 tax obligation.
✔ When reopening, businesses must re-register as new.
✔ Severely disrupted businesses (45+ days of disruption) may also qualify for relief.
✔ Automatic tax filing extensions granted for businesses in ZIP codes 90049, 90272, and 90402 until April 14, 2025.
